Baden-Württemberg has a unique and differentiated higher education landscape with 9 universities, 6 teacher training colleges, 23 universities of applied sciences, 8 art and music colleges, 1 dual university with 9 study academies, 3 campuses and 1 master's study institution, the Pop Academy, the Film Academy, the Academy of Performing Arts and 253 colleges and universities under independent sponsorship with (2 private universities, universities, universities of applied sciences and 1 university of music)one university-like , 184 private and 3 church-run universities of applied sciences as well as 3 universities for church music)

All DHBW degree programmes are recognised as intensive degree programmes and assessed with 210 ECTS points
