Advertisement of non-profit and commercial waste collections

You must notify non-profit and commercial collections of recyclable waste, so-called recyclables from private households, at least three months before the collection begins. Notification is required, for example, for street or container collections of textiles and shoes, but also purchase points for waste paper.

The collection may be prohibited, limited in time or subject to conditions by the competent authority.

  • Recyclable materials from private households are subject to transfer. This means that they must be handed over to the public waste management authorities.
  • The commercial or non-profit collection of recyclable materials (recyclable waste) is only permitted if it has been notified to the competent authority;
  • notified collections can be prohibited or restricted by the competent authority
  • Mixed waste from private households may not be collected on a commercial or non-profit basis (e.g. bulky waste)

Electrical waste (defective old electrical appliances) must be returned to the public waste disposal authority or to the dealers who are obliged to take it back.

Prerequisite

The purpose must be a collection of waste from private households for commercial or charitable purposes.

The collection must not conflict with an overriding public interest.

Required documents

  1. Information about the size and organization of the collection enterprise,
  2. Information on the nature, extent and duration, in particular on the maximum possible scope and minimum duration of the collection,
  3. information on the type, quantity and whereabouts of the waste to be recovered,
  4. a description of the recovery routes envisaged within the notified period, including the measures required to ensure their capacity, and
  5. a description of how the proper and harmless recovery of the collected waste will be ensured.

Costs

Costs in the amount of 50.00 Euro to 100.00 Euro are incurred.

Miscellaneous

Anyone who fails to report a charitable or commercial collection, or fails to report it correctly or in good time, commits an administrative offense. This can be punished with a fine of up to 10,000 euros.
