Make use of educational counselling
If there are frequent conflicts between you and your children, you can make use of educational counselling.
It is intended to help
- re-establish a basis for discussion between you and your children,
- Resolve conflicts in parenting and
- prevent further serious problems.
Prerequisite
You feel you can no longer cope with your children.
Responsible department
The local youth welfare office
Youth welfare office is,
- if you live in a city district: the city administration
- if you live in a district: the district administration office
Note: The city of Constance, which belongs to a district, performs the tasks as the local youth welfare agency itself. The city of Villingen-Schwenningen has handed over the municipal youth welfare office to the Schwarzwald-Baar-Kreis as of 01.07.2023.
Procedure
Make an appointment for counselling at the competent office. If possible, arrange it with your child and bring him or her to the appointment. However, you can also come alone.
The next steps will be discussed at this meeting.
If the professionals come to the conclusion that additional support measures are necessary, you can apply for them at the responsible youth welfare officeyou can apply for them at the responsible youth welfare office. Additional measures can be, for example
- Educational assistance
- Education in a day group
- Social pedagogical family support

Required documents
As a rule, no documents are required for educational counselling. If further support measures are decided during the counselling, the competent office will inform you about the required documents and evidence.
Costs
There are no costs for educational counselling.
Miscellaneous
Educational counselling is also provided by the educational counselling centres.
